Urgent leave

There are times when your private life demands more of your time and attention. The university is happy to assist in such situations, and can give you additional leave in certain cases.

You are entitled to leave hours in order to deal with emergencies of a personal nature. The university defines an ’emergency’ as a sudden occurrence that requires you to interrupt your work immediately in order to take action, e.g. if your child suddenly falls ill, your partner goes into labour or a member of your immediate family dies. Paid leave for emergencies is available for up to two days per calendar year.
